REAR AXLE HUB (for Full Just Low) INSTALLATION

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.

INSTALL SKID CONTROL ROTOR REAR (W/ ABS))
1. Using SST and a press, install a new rear skid control rotor.

INSTALL REAR AXLE INNER BEARING TAPERED ROLLER BEARING
1. Using SST and a press, install the bearing inner race.

INSTALL REAR AXLE OUTER BEARING TAPERED ROLLER BEARING
1. Using SST and a press, install the bearing outer race.

INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB LH OIL SEAL
1. Coat the inside of hub with MP grease.

2. Coat the inner bearing with MP grease.
3. Place the inner bearing into the axle hub.
4. Using SST and a press, install a new rear axle hub oil seal RH to the axle hub.

5. Coat the oil seal lip with MP grease.

  *a Matchmark
  
  Align the matchmarks on the drum and rear axle hub & brake drum LH.
7. L/ABS:
  
  Install the brake drum oil deflector RH.
8. Install the 6 bolts.
  
  Torque:
  
  w/o ABS
  
  260 N*m { 2651 kgf*cm, 192 ft.*lbf }
  
  w/ABS
  
  160 N*m { 1632 kgf*cm, 118 ft.*lbf }
INSTALL AXLE HUB W/DRUM
1. Place the rear axle hub & brake drum assembly on the rear axle housing.
2. Install the outer bearing.
INSTALL REAR AXLE BEARING LOCK NUT
1. Install the lock nut.
ADJUST PRELOAD
1. Using SST, torque the lock nut.

  Torque:
  
  56 N*m { 575 kgf*cm, 42 ft.*lbf }
2. Snug down the bearing by turning the several times.
3. Using SST, retorque the lock nut.
  
  Torque:
  
  56 N*m { 575 kgf*cm, 42 ft.*lbf }

  Using SST, loosen the lock nut by 30°.

5. Temporarily install the lock plate.
  
  If the screw holes are not aligned, correct by tightening the nut by the smallest amount possible.
6. Remove the lock plate.

  Using a spring tension gauge, measure the preload.
  
  Preload (at starting)
  
  11 to 32 N (1.1 to 3.3 kgf, 2.4 to 7.3 lbf)
  
  If the preload is not within the specification, the above procedure must be repeated.
INSPECT AXLE HUB AXIAL PLAY
1. Using a dial indicator, check the axle hub axial play.
  
  Maximum
  
  0.10 mm (0.0039 in.) or less
INSTALL REAR AXLE BEARING LOCK NUT SCREW
1. Install the lock plate.
2. Install the rear axle bearing lock nut screw.
INSTALL REAR TIRE

Torque:

365 N*m { 3722 kgf*cm, 269 ft.*lbf }
REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT GASKET LH
INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH
CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (w/ ABS)
