STEERING KNUCKLE (for Rigid Type) REMOVAL

Tech Tips

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH

  4. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH NUT

  5. REMOVE AXLE HUB W/DISC

      Remove the front axle hub claw washer, the inner race of the outer front axle hub bearing and the front axle hub with disc brake from the steering knuckle.

      Note

      Do not drop the bearing.

  6. SEPARATE STEERING KNUCKLE ARM LH

  7. REMOVE DISC BRAKE DUST COVER FRONT LH


    1. Remove the bolt, nut and front disc brake dust cover LH from steering knuckle.

  8. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE PLUG

      Remove the steering knuckle bleeder plug.

    2. Remove the steering knuckle plug.

  9. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE PLUG


    1. A01KEWQ

      Using a hexagon wrench, remove the steering knuckle plug.

  10. REMOVE KING PIN LOCK PIN


    1. A01KF6A

      Remove the nut from the king pin lock pin.

    2. Using a brass bar and a hammer, remove the king pin lock pin.

  11. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH


    1. A01KEBF

      Using a brass bar and a hammer, remove the steering knuckle king pin.

    2. Remove the steering knuckle, king pin shim and steering knuckle king pin bearing.

    3. A01KG52

      Using a screwdriver, remove the steering knuckle king pin dust seal.
