STEERING KNUCKLE (for Independent Type) REMOVAL

Replace the RH side by the same procedures with the LH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB GREASE CAP LH


    1. Remove the 6 bolts with hub grease cap LH and outer shaft flange gasket LH.

  4. REMOVE AXLE HUB W/DISC

      Using a screwdriver, loosen the staked part of adjusting lock washer LH.

      Using SST, remove the adjusting nut LH.

    3. Remove the adjusting lock washer LH.

    4. Using SST, remove the adjusting nut LH.

    5. Remove the hub claw washer LH, outer bearing roller bearing and front axle hub with front disc.

  5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE DUST COVER FRONT LH

      Remove the 3 bolts and front disc brake dust cover LH.

  6. SEPARATE SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH (W/ ABS)

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the speed sensor FR LH.

  7. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE ARM LH

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the steering knuckle arm LH.

  8. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE LH


    1. A01KIGP

      Remove the 4 bolts and separate the lower ball joint.

    2. A01KGL4

      Remove the cotter pin and loosen the castle nut.

      Note

      Do not remove the castle nut until the engagement of upper arm and steering knuckle has been released.

    3. A01KF5KE01

      Using SST, disconnect the engagement of upper ball joint and steering knuckle.

      Note

      Support the steering knuckle with a jack or similar.

    4. Remove the castle nut.

      Note

      Use strings or similar to fix the steering knuckle with axle hub to the vehicle.
