REAR LEAF SPRING REMOVAL


  1. SEPARATE SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY REAR LH

      Except Singapore:

      Remove the bolt, washer and nut.

    2. A01KH7U

      Singapore:

      Remove the bolt and retainer.

  2. REMOVE REAR SPRING U BOLT SEAT


    1. A01KF5B

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers and U-bolt seat.

  3. REMOVE REAR SPRING U BOLT

  4. REMOVE REAR SPRING BUMPER NO.1 LH (EXCEPT SINGAPORE)

  5. REMOVE REAR LH SPRING ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut and rear spring bracket pin.

      Note

      Loosen the nut and not the bolt.

      Remove the 2 nuts, 2 washers, shackle plate and spring shackle.

    3. Remove the leaf spring.

  6. DISASSEMBLY LEAF SPRING

    1. Using a bras bar and a hammer, pry up the spring clip.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the spring surface.

    2. Fix the leaf spring.

      Hold the spring near the center bolt with a press and remove the center bolt.

  7. INSPECT REAR SPRING LEAF BUSH

      Cut off the rubber ends of the bush using a saw.

      Using SST and press, remove the bush.

      Using a chisel and hammer, remove the outer tube.

  8. INSPECT LEAF SPRING


    1. Inspect the spring for wear, cracks, and slack.

    2. Inspect U-bolt and U-bolt seat for wear and damage.

    3. Inspect the spring shackle and shackle plate for wear and damage.
