DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for Ring Gear Size 8.0 inch) INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER GASKET


    1. Clean the contact surfaces of the rear axle housing assembly.

    2. Install a new rear differential carrier gasket onto the rear axle housing assembly.

  2. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the contact surfaces of the rear differential carrier assembly.

    2. Install the rear differential carrier assembly with the 10 nuts and 10 washers.

      Torque:
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  4. INSTALL REAR AXLE HOUSING DRAIN PLUG


    1. Install a new gasket and the rear axle housing drain plug.

      Torque:
      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE LH (for Single Tire)

  6. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE RH (for Single Tire)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH (for Double Tire)

    1. Install the rear axle shaft LH.

    2. Install the 6 cone washers, washers and nuts.

      Torque:
      59 N*m  { 602 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT RH (for Double Tire)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  9. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  11. INSTALL REAR AXLE HOUSING FILLER PLUG


    1. Install a new gasket and the rear axle housing filler plug.

      Torque:
      49 N*m  { 500 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSTALL REAR WHEEL (for Single Tire)

    Torque:
    135 N*m  { 1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf }
