DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for Ring Gear Size 8.0 inch) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL (for Single Tire)

  2. REMOVE REAR AXLE HOUSING FILLER PLUG

  3. REMOVE REAR AXLE HOUSING DRAIN PLUG

  4. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE LH (for Single Tire)

  5. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT WITH BACKING PLATE RH (for Single Tire)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  6. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT LH (for Double Tire)


    1. A01KETI

      Remove the 6 nuts and washers.

    2. A01KIOM

      Using a brass bar and a hammer, remove the 6 cone washers.

    3. A01KGE9

      Install the 2 service bolts, and turn each by turns.

    4. Remove the rear axle shaft LH.

    5. Remove the 2 service bolts from the rear axle shaft LH.

  7. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT RH (for Double Tire)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  8. SEPARATE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a jack, support the rear differential carrier assembly.

      Note

      As it is heavy, support the differential securely with a jack.

      Remove the 10 nuts, 10 washers and rear differential carrier assembly.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the removal surface.

  10. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER GASKET


    1. Remove the rear differential carrier gasket.
