GENERATOR DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY

    1. Place the matchmarks as shown.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts and vacuum pump assembly.

  2. REMOVE REAR END COVER


    1. Remove the nut and terminal insulator.

    2. Remove the bolt, 3 nuts, plate terminal and rear end cover.

  3. REMOVE GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the brush holder cover.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and brush holder assembly.

    3. Remove the seal plate.

  4. REMOVE GENERATOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 screws and regulator assembly.

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR HOLDER W/RECTIFIER

    1. Remove the 4 screws and rectifier holder

    2. Remove the 4 rubber insulators.

  6. REMOVE RECTIFIER END FRAME

    1. Remove the 4 nuts and cord clamp.

      Using SST, remove the rectifier end frame.

    3. Remove the alternator washer from the rotor.

  7. REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Using SST and press, press out the rotor.

  8. PREVENTION ROTOR BEARING (Front)


    1. Remove the oil seal.

    2. Remove the 4 screws, bearing retainer.

      Using SST and a press, press out the bearing.

  9. REMOVE ROTOR BEARING (Rear)

    1. Using SST, remove the bearing cover (outside) and bearing.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the fan.

    2. Remove the bearing cover (inside).
