GENERATOR DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE GENERATOR W/CLUTCH PULLEY

    1. Remove the cover.

    2. Install SST to the pulley and vise as shown in the illustration.

    3. Mount SST (A) in a vise.

      Turn SST (B) clockwise, loosen the pulley.

    5. Remove the pulley.

  2. REMOVE REAR END COVER

    1. Remove the nut and terminal insulator.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and bolt and end cover.

  3. REMOVE GENERATOR BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws, brush holder and cover.

    2. Remove the brush holder cover from the brush holder.

  4. REMOVE GENERATOR REGULATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 screws and regulator.

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR HOLDER W/RECTIFIER

    1. Remove the 4 screws and rectifier holder.

  6. REMOVE RECTIFIER END FRAME

    1. Remove the 4 nuts and cord clip.

      Using SST, remove the rectifier end frame.

    3. Remove the generator washer from the rotor.

  7. REMOVE GENERATOR ROTOR ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE BRUSH

    1. Unsolder and remove the brush and spring.

  9. REMOVE ROTOR BEARING (Front)

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and bearing retainer.

      Using SST and a press, press out the bearing.

  10. REMOVE ROTOR BEARING (Rear)

    1. Using SST, remove the bearing cover (outside) and bearing.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the fan.

    2. Remove the bearing cover (inside).
