STARTER (for 2.2 kW Type) DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE STARTER YOKE ASSEMBLY

    *2 Dust Protector

    1. Remove the screw and terminal 50 wire.

    2. Remove the 2 dust protectors.

    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the terminal C wire.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 O-rings.

    5. Pull out the starter yoke assembly with the armature assembly.

    6. Remove the O-ring from the starter yoke assembly.

  2. REMOVE MAGNET STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 screws and magnet starter switch assembly.

    2. Remove the starter housing, starter clutch sub-assembly, return spring, 2 starter idler pinion, 5 clutch rollers, retainer and starter clutch sub-assembly.

      *1 Magnetic Finger

      Using a magnetic finger, remove the steel ball.

  3. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a screwdriver, hold the spring back and disconnect the brush.

    2. Disconnect the 4 brushes and remove the brush holder assembly.

  4. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

    1. Using a plastic-faced hammer, tap the end of starter yoke assembly and remove the armature assembly.

  5. REMOVE STARTER BEARING (Front)

    1. Using SST and a press, remove the bearing.

  6. REMOVE STARTER BEARING (Rear)

    1. Using SST, remove the bearing.

  7. REMOVE STARTER TERMINAL KIT

    1. Remove the 3 nuts, end cover, gasket and plunger.

    2. Using SST, loosen the terminal nuts.

    3. Remove the terminal C kit parts.

    4. Remove the terminal 30 kit parts.
