ENGINE OIL COOLER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL DRAIN PLUG

    Torque:
    8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01KGEOE01

      Install 2 new gaskets and the oil cooler to the oil cooler cover with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      16 N*m  { 160 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or Equivalent
    2. Install the oil pressure switch.

      Torque:
      15 N*m  { 150 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL DIESEL ENGINE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

    Torque:
    20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
  5. INSTALL OIL COOLER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01KH79

      Install a new gasket and oil cooler cover sub-assembly with the 13 bolts.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
    2. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

    3. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

  6. INSTALL INJECTION PUMP ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL COMMON RAIL ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01KGTFE01

      Tighten the oil filter by hand until the rubber gasket contacts the seat of the filter mounting.

    2. Using SST, give it an additional 3/4 turn to seat the filter.

      Torque:
      17 N*m  { 173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
  9. INSTALL TIMING BELT

  10. REPLACE ENGINE OIL

  11. REFILL ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Slowly fill the system with coolant.


      • Use of improper coolants may damage engine cooling system.


      • Use "Toyota Long Life Coolant" or equivalent and mix it with plan water according to the manufacturer's directions.


      • Using of coolant which includes more than 50 % [freezing protection down to -35°C (-31°F)] or 60 % [freezing protection down to -50°C (-58°F)] of ethylene-glycol is recommended but not more than 70 %.

      Note


      • Do not use an alcohol type coolant or plain water alone.


      • The coolant should be mixed with plain water (preferably demineralized water or distilled water).

    2. Reinstall the radiator cap.

    3. Start the engine, and bleed the cooling system.

    4. Refill the radiator reservoir with coolant until it reaches the "full" line.

  12. BLEED INJECTION PIPE


    1. Move the priming pump of the fuel filter up and down until it becomes hard.

  13. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEAK

  14. CHECK ENGINE COOLANT LEAK

  15. CHECK FUEL LEAK
