OIL PUMP REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR

      Place the timing belt case on wooden blocks (See step Click here).

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the timing pointer.

    2. Insert the drive and driven rotors into timing belt case with the marks facing the oil pump cover side.

      *1 Adhesive

      Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the screws.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or Equivalent
    4. Install the oil pump cover with the 8 screws.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 105 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }
  2. INSTALL OIL PUMP RELIEF VALVE


    1. Insert the relief valve and spring into the installation hole of the timing belt case.

      *1 12 mm Hexagon Wrench

      Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install a new gasket and the plug.

      Torque:
      37 N*m  { 375 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
  3. INSTALL TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL

    Tech Tips

    There are 2 methods (A and B) to install the oil seal.


    1. If the oil pump is removed from the cylinder block:


      1. A01KG4VE01

        Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal to the depth of 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) from the oil pump case edge.

      2. Apply MP grease to the oil seal lip.

    2. If the oil pump is installed to the cylinder block:


      1. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.

        Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal to the depth of 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) from the oil pump case edge.
