FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT


  1. DRAIN FUEL

  2. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Loosen the filter drain plug, and then drain the fuel.

    2. Disconnect the fuel main tube fuel hose No. 1.

    3. Disconnect the injection pump to fuel filter fuel hose.

    4. Disconnect the injection pump to fuel filter fuel hose.

    5. Disconnect the fuel heater assembly.

  3. REMOVE FUEL FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and fuel filter assembly.

      Fix the fuel filter cap into a vise.

    3. Using a water pump pliers, remove the level warning switch.

      Using SST, remove the fuel filter element.

  4. INSTALL FUEL FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply a light coat of fuel to the gasket, and then tighten the fuel filter element by hand thoroughly.

      Note

      Do not use SST in tightening the element

    2. With a new gasket for the warning switch, tighten the level warning switch by hand thoroughly.

    3. With a new O-ring, tighten the fuel filter drain plug.

  5. INSTALL FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Tighten the fuel filter assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 183 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
    2. Connect the fuel heater assembly connector.

    3. Connect the level warning switch connector.

    4. Connect the injection pump to fuel filter fuel hose.

    5. Connect the fuel main tube fuel hose No. 1.

  6. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK


    1. Move the priming pump up and down which is placed in the upper part of the fuel filter assembly and fill the fuel in the fuel system.

    2. Start the engine and check that there is no leakage in the fuel system.
