FUEL SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

  1. FUEL CUT SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

    1. Inspect the operation

      1. Check that the engine stops when the fuel cut solenoid connector is disconnected during idling.

  2. FUEL CUT SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (TCV SYSTEM)

    1. Inspect the operation.

      1. Check the TCV operating sound after the water temperature sensor connector is disconnected during idling.

  3. POWER BALANCE

    1. Inspect the power balance.

      1. Check how the engine revolution changes and how the engine oscillates during idling by loosening and tightening the flare nut for the injection pipe in the nozzle side as slowly as possible.

        Note

To prevent the fuel from spilling out, use cloth to cover it.

        Tech Tips

        • The engine revolution does not decrease, or there is a cylinder which has little change (Power of the cylinder is weak).

        • There are some cylinders which engines revolution become stable by loosening the flare nut and draining a little amount of fuel injection (Power of the cylinder is strong).

  4. INSPECT FUEL CUT SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

    1. A01KHCF

      Check the continuity

      1. Using TOYOTA electrical tester, check the continuity between terminal 3 of the connector and body ground.

        Standard
        Continuity
    2. Inspect the operation

      1. Check that the solenoid is sucked when the battery positive is connected to a terminal of the fuel cut solenoid assembly and the body is grounded.

      2. Check that the solenoid recovers if connection between the body and ground is cut under the (1) condition.

  5. INSPECT FUEL CUT SOLENOID ASSEMBLY

    1. A01KHCF

      Check the continuity

      1. Using TOYOTA electrical tester, check the continuity between terminal 1 of the connector and body ground.

        Standard
        Continuity
    2. Inspect the operation

      1. Check that the solenoid is sucked when the battery positive is connected to a terminal of the fuel cut solenoid assembly (TCV) and the body is grounded.

        *1 Needle
        *a Press lightly

Check that the needle moves smoothly without hesitation when the needle on the tip of the fuel cut solenoid assembly (TCV) is lightly pressed.
