FUEL FILTER INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT LEVEL WARNING SWITCH

      *1 Ohmmeter

      Inspect the level warning switch.


      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 ON Below 1 Ω
        1 - 2 OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        If the resistance is not as specified, replace the level warning switch.

  2. INSPECT FUEL HEATER ASSEMBLY

      *1 Ohmmeter

      Inspect the fuel heater assembly (w/ Fuel Heater).


      1. Connect an ohmmeter between terminal 2 and the fuel heater body.

      2. Apply negative vacuum of 29.3 to 40.4kPa (220 to 300 mmHg) to the fuel heater and measure the resistance.

        Standard resistance
        0.5 to 2.0 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

        If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel heater assembly.

  3. INSPECT CLOGGING SWITCH

      *1 Ohmmeter

      Inspect the clogging switch (w/ Clogging Switch).


      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance
        Below 1 Ω at 20°C (68°F)

        If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel filter.
