ACCELERATOR PEDAL ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

  1. INSPECT ACCELERATOR LINK ASSEMBLY (w/ Heater)

    1. Inspect the voltage.

      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

      3. Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.

      4. Select the menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Accel censor out No. 1, Accel censor out No. 2.

      5. When depressing and releasing the accelerator pedal, check that the values of the accelerator position No. 1 and accelerator position No. 2 are within the specification.

        Standard voltage
        Accel Position NO.1
        Condition Specified Condition
Accelerator pedal is released 0.75 to 0.85V
Accelerator pedal is depressed 3.2 to 3.9 V
        Accel Position NO.2
        Condition Specified Condition
Accelerator pedal is released 1.55 to 1.65 V
Accelerator pedal is depressed 4.0 to 4.7 V

If the result is not as specified, check the accelerator pedal, wire harness, and ECM.

  2. INSPECT ACCELERATOR LINK ASSEMBLY (w/o Heater)

      5. When depressing and releasing the accelerator pedal, check that the values of the accelerator position No. 1 and accelerator position No. 2 are within the specification.

        Standard voltage
        Accel Position NO.1
        Condition Specified Condition
Accelerator pedal is released 0.7 to 0.9 V
Accelerator pedal is depressed 3.4 to 4.04 V
        Accel Position NO.2
        Condition Specified Condition
Accelerator pedal is released 1.5 to 1.7 V
Accelerator pedal is depressed 4.2 to 4.84 V

If the result is not as specified, check the accelerator pedal, wire harness or ECM.
