ECD SYSTEM (w/ DPF) Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The injector driver drives the injectors at high speeds with a high-voltage DC/DC converter. The ECM constantly monitors the injector driver and stops the engine if an abnormal condition is detected.

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E22-2 (+B) - E22-4 (GND) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    NG
    OK
  2. INSPECT EDU RELAY

    1. Remove the EDU relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. A01KIHJE01

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
Battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

    NG
    OK
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INJECTOR DRIVER - EDU RELAY HOLDER)

    1. Remove the EDU relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the injector driver connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E22-2 (+B) - EDU relay holder 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      E22-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
E22-2 (+B) or EDU relay holder 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG
    OK
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - EDU RELAY HOLDER)

    1. Remove the EDU relay from the engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E16-12 (IREL) - EDU relay holder 2 Always Below 1 Ω
E16-12 (IREL) or EDU relay holder 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG
    OK
