INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

  • Inspect the fuses of circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration Click here and initialization Click here.

  • After replacing the fuel supply pump assembly or suction control valve, the ECM needs initialization Click here.

  • After replacing an injector assembly, the ECM needs registration Click here.

Tech Tips

Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OIL PRESSURE SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY - ECM)

    1. Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O2-3 (VC) - E12-13 (VCPX) Always Below 1 Ω
      O2-2 (POP) - E12-4 (POP) Always Below 1 Ω
      O2-1 (E2) - E12-14 (EPEX) Always Below 1 Ω
O2-3 (VC) or E12-13 (VCPX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
O2-2 (POP) or E12-4 (POP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
O2-1 (E2) or E12-14 (EPEX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
