FRONT LEAF SPRING REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER BAR

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the nut and 2 washers and disconnect the front shock absorber assembly LH from the front shock absorber lower bracket LH.

  4. REMOVE FRONT SPRING U BOLT


    1. Jack up the front axle I-beam and maintain it at a position where a load is not placed on the front spring assembly LH.

    2. A01CIHC

      Remove the 4 nuts, 2 front spring U bolts, front No. 1 spring bumper and front shock absorber lower bracket LH from the front axle I-beam.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SPRING PIN SUPPORT

      Remove the bolt and front spring pin support.

  6. REMOVE FRONT SPRING ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the nut, washer and bolt and disconnect the front spring assembly LH from the frame.

      *1 Front Spring Shackle Outer Plate
      *2 Front No. 2 Spring Shackle Sub-assembly
      *a Rear side

      Remove the 2 nuts, front spring shackle outer plate and front No. 2 spring shackle sub-assembly and remove the front spring assembly LH.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 SPRING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 nuts, 3 bolts and No. 2 spring bracket sub-assembly from the frame.
