REAR AXLE HUB REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT

  3. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT OIL SEAL

  4. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly and disconnect the flexible hose.

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

  5. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD


    1. Remove the 2 brake pads with anti squeal shims.

  6. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING


    1. A01CHWZ

      Remove the 4 bolts and cylinder mounting.

  7. REMOVE REAR AXLE LOCK NUT PLATE


    1. A01CHJB

      Remove the 3 bolts from the lock nut plate.

    2. Remove the lock nut plate.

  8. REMOVE REAR AXLE BEARING LOCK NUT

      Using SST, remove the lock nut.

    2. Remove the lock nut plate.

  9. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND DISC ASSEMBLY


    1. Pull on the rear axle hub and disc assembly and remove the rear axle outer bearing.

    2. Remove the rear axle hub and disc assembly.

      Note


      • Be careful not to drop the outer bearing.

      • Be sure to securely hold the rear axle hub and disc assembly because it is heavy.

  10. REMOVE REAR AXLE OIL SEAL GUIDE


    1. A01CHSTE01

      Using SST, remove the oil seal guide and inner bearing from the rear axle housing.

  11. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH


    1. A01CHIXE01

      Using SST, drive out the oil seal.

    2. Remove the inner bearing.

  12. REMOVE REAR AXLE OUTER BEARING OUTER RACE


    1. Remove the grease from the axle hub.

    2. A01CHZ9

      Using a brass bar and hammer, tap out the outer race for the outer bearing.

      Note


      • Apply the brass bar to the cut out of the axle hub to hit the outer race.

      • Do not damage the rear disc.

      • Remove the bearing outer race only when replacing the bearing.

  13. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB INNER BEARING OUTER RACE


    1. Remove the MP grease from the axle hub.

    2. A01CHMS

      Using a brass bar and hammer, tap out the outer race for the inner bearing.

      Note


      • Apply the brass bar to the cut out of the axle hub to hit the outer race.

      • Do not damage the rear disc.

      • Remove the bearing outer race only when replacing the bearing.

  14. REMOVE REAR SKID CONTROL ROTOR


    1. A01CHVR

      Using a hexagon wrench (5 mm), remove the rear skid control rotor.

  15. REMOVE REAR DISC ROTOR


    1. A01CIQBE01

      Place matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts and separate the brake disc and axle hub.
