SHIFT AND SELECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SHIFT AND SELECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE


    1. Pass the shift and select transmission control cable from the engine side to the cabin side.

      Install the transmission control shift cable to the shift lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      24 N*m  { 245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

    3. Install the transmission control select cable to the select lever with the nut.

      Torque:
      24 N*m  { 245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

    4. Install 2 new clips to the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

      Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the transmission control cable clamp with the bolt.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the No. 2 transmission control cable bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    7. Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the No. 3 transmission control cable bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    8. Install a new transmission control cable clamp labeled B to the shift and select transmission control cable.

    9. Install a new transmission control cable clamp labeled A to the shift and select transmission control cable.

    10. Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the transmission control cable bracket.

    11. Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the 2 transmission control cable brackets with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

    12. Install the shift and select transmission control cable to the shift lever retainer with 2 new clips.

    13. Connect the transmission control select cable to the shift lever assembly with the washer and clip.

      Tech Tips

      Reuse the old clip. The clip will be removed again to adjust the shift lever position.

    14. Connect the transmission control shift cable to the shift lever assembly with the clip.

  2. INSPECT AND ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

  3. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER BOOT COVER


    1. Install the shift lever boot cover with the 3 clips.

  4. INSTALL SHIFTING HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the 4 claws and 2 clamps, and install the shifting hole cover sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE HOLE COVER


    1. Install the parking brake hole cover with the 3 screws.

  6. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the shift lever knob clockwise and install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
