SHIFT AND SELECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT


  1. INSPECT AND ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. When the shift lever is in the neutral position, check that the shift lever is perpendicular to the installation surface for the floor shift assembly.

    2. A01CHZEE01

      Remove the nut and disconnect the control shift cable from the floor shift assembly.

    3. Remove the clip and washer, and disconnect the control select cable from the floor shift assembly.

    4. Loosen the lock nut and adjust the shift lever range by turning the ball joint.

    5. Connect the control select cable to the shift lever assembly with the washer and clip.

    6. Install the control shift cable to the shift lever assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    7. Tighten the lock nut.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

    8. After adjustment, check the following:


      1. When the shift lever is in the neutral position, the shift lever is perpendicular to the installation surface for the shift lever assembly.

      2. Shifting into each position can be done correctly.

      3. When selecting or shifting the shift positions, no excessive force is required.

      4. When selecting the shift position, the shift lever should return to the neutral position smoothly.

      5. No abnormal noise is heard during operation.
