SHIFT AND SELECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT


  1. INSPECT AND ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. With the shift lever in the neutral position, check that the shift lever is perpendicular to the installation surface of the shift lever assembly.

      *3 Lock Nut

      Remove the clip and washer, and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the shift lever assembly.

    3. Loosen the lock nut and adjust the shift lever range by turning the ball joint.

    4. Connect the transmission control select cable to the shift lever assembly with the washer and a new clip.

    5. Tighten the lock nut.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

    6. After adjustment, check the following:


      1. With the shift lever in the neutral position, the shift lever is perpendicular to the installation surface of the shift lever assembly.

      2. Shifting into each position can be done correctly.

      3. When selecting or shifting the shift positions, no excessive force is required.

      4. When selecting the shift position, the shift lever returns to the neutral position smoothly.

      5. No abnormal noise is heard during operation.
