LUBRICATION SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL


    1. Warm up and stop the engine, then wait for 5 minutes.

    2. Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the level gauge. If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.

      CAUTION:

      Do not add engine oil to above the full level mark.

  2. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE


    1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

    2. Remove the oil pressure switch.

      Install the union and 2 new gaskets to the oil cooler bracket with the union bolt.

      Torque:
      25 N*m  { 250 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf }

      Union 90404-10024
    4. Install the oil pressure gauge.

    5. Warm up the engine.

    6. Inspect the oil pressure.

      When idling

      190 kPa (1.9 kgf*cm2, 27.6 psi)

    7. Remove the oil pressure gauge.

    8. Remove the union and union bolt.

      Install the oil pressure switch.


      1. Install the oil pressure switch with a new O-ring by hand, then further tighten it by 20 to 40° as shown in the illustration.

    10. Connect the oil pressure switch connector.

    11. Inspect for engine oil leaks.
