WATER PUMP ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. REMOVE FAN PULLEY

  2. INSPECT ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CJBX

      Turn the pulley and check that the pump bearing moves smoothly and quietly.

      If the bearing moves roughly or noisily, replace the engine water pump assembly.

    2. Check for deposits around the drain plug of the engine water pump assembly.

  3. INSPECT FLUID COUPLING ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 nuts and fan.

    2. A01CII3

      Rotate the fluid coupling assembly by hand and check for abnormal noise and whether it rotates smoothly.

      If the fluid coupling assembly moves roughly or noisily, replace the fluid coupling assembly.

    3. Check the fluid coupling for damage or silicon oil leaks.

      If necessary, replace the fluid coupling.

    4. Install the fan with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }
