ENGINE OIL COOLER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CH3V

      Install the oil cooler assembly and 2 new gaskets to the oil filter bracket sub-assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
    2. A01CJ4BE01

      Apply a continuous bead of seal packing (diameter 1.5 to 2.5 mm (0.06 to 0.10 in.)) as shown in the illustration.

      Seal packing
      Toyota Genuine Seal Packing Black, Three Bond 1207B or equivalent

      Note


      • Remove any oil from the contact surface.

      • Install the oil filter bracket within 3 minutes of applying the seal packing.

      • Do not start the engine for at least 2 hours after the installation.

      Install the oil cooler assembly with the oil filter bracket and the 15 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 290 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

      Install the wire harness bracket and the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 290 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CHFVE01

      Install the oil pressure switch.


      1. Install the oil pressure switch with a new O-ring by hand, then further tighten it 20 to 40° as shown in the illustration.

    2. Connect the oil pressure switch connector.

  3. INSTALL OIL FILTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean the oil filter installation surface.

    2. Apply engine oil to the oil filter gasket.

    3. Lightly screw the oil filter to the engine until the oil filter does not turn by hand.

    4. Using SST, tighten the oil filter an additional 2/3 turn.
