OIL PUMP INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

      *a Apply Engine Oil

      Apply engine oil to the pump case of the cylinder block and the bearing.

      Note

      Failure to apply engine oil to the pump case may cause poor lubrication, resulting in burning engine oil or abnormal engine wear.

    2. Install a new gasket.

    3. Install the oil pump assembly with the 7 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 290 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 IDLE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the No. 1 idle gear sub-assembly and No. 1 idle gear thrust plate to the No. 1 idle gear shaft.

      *a Alignment Mark

      With the idle gear shaft oil hole facing down, match the alignment marks for each gear, and insert the gear shaft with idle gear into the cylinder block.

      Note

      If the oil hole is not facing down, it will cause engine seizure or abnormal engine wear.

    3. Install the No. 1 idle gear sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      137 N*m  { 1397 kgf*cm, 101 ft.*lbf }
