TURBOCHARGER REMOVAL


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    CAUTION:

    Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

      Loosen the radiator drain cock plug and engine drain plug.

    2. Remove the radiator cap, then drain the coolant.

    3. Close the radiator drain cock plug.

    4. Tighten the engine drain plug.

      Torque:
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf, for the engine drain plug }

  2. REMOVE ENGINE SIDE COVER RH

  3. REMOVE FRONT MUDGUARD RH

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 INTAKE PIPE

      Remove the 3 bolts, loosen the 2 bands, and remove the No. 2 intake pipe.

  5. REMOVE EXHAUST RETARDER ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CIBFE01

      Disconnect the vacuum hose.

    2. A01CHNOE01

      Remove the 4 bolts and exhaust retarder assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 gaskets from the exhaust retarder assembly.

  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt.

    2. A01CI20E01

      Remove the 3 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly.

    3. Remove the gasket.

  7. REMOVE EGR COOLER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the 3 water by-pass hoses.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts and EGR cooler sub-assembly.

    3. Remove the 2 gaskets.

  8. REMOVE INTAKE PIPE OR HOSE STAY

      Remove the 2 bolts and intake pipe or hose stay.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR


    1. A01CHIN

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 turbo insulator.

  10. REMOVE TURBO OIL INLET PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CGM4

      Remove the bolt, and separate the turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 union bolts, 4 gaskets and turbo oil inlet pipe sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE TURBO OIL OUTLET PIPE

      Remove the 4 bolts, 2 gaskets and turbo oil outlet pipe.

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the union bolt, bolt, O-ring, 2 gaskets and No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut, and separate the water by-pass pipe sub-assembly bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 union bolts, 4 gaskets and water by-pass pipe sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE INTAKE PIPE


    1. A01CJ2T

      Disconnect the band and inter No. 2 air hose.

    2. A01CHMZ

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, gasket and intake pipe.

  15. REMOVE TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. A01CI28

      Remove the 4 nuts and 4 spacers, gasket and turbocharger sub-assembly.

    3. A01CI29

      Remove the 7 stud bolts.
