INSPECT FLOW DAMPER
Warm up the engine.
Turn the ignition switch off.
Replace the normal DLC3 cable (12 V specification) for the intelligent tester with the 24 V DLC3 cable.
Note
Be sure to use the 24 V DLC3 cable when connecting the intelligent tester to the DLC3. Using the normal DLC3 cable (12 V specification) will cause damage to the tester.
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the tester on.
Start the engine and rev it at full throttle.

Note
If any DTC is output, perform troubleshooting procedures for that DTC.
INSPECT PRESSURE LIMITER
| *1 | Pressure Limiter |
| *2 | Gasket |
| *3 | Union |
| *4 | Union Bolt |
Remove the union bolt holding the pressure limiter.
Plug the fuel return pipe with a cap to prevent fuel from coming out.
Note
Do not allow dirt or water to enter parts.

| *2 | Union |
| *3 | Vinyl Hose |
| *4 | Reservoir |
Install the union bolt to the pressure limiter and connect a vinyl hose to the end of the union bolt.
Place a reservoir under the free end of the hose.
Start the engine. If fuel continuously flow outs, replace the pressure limiter with a common rail assembly.
CAUTION:
When the pressure limiter is operating, pressurized high-temperature fuel may flow out, resulting in a serious injury.
INSPECT COMMON RAIL ASSEMBLY
| *a | Component without harness connected (Fuel Pressure Sensor) |
Inspect the fuel pressure sensor.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
