FUEL FILTER INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the resistance of the level warning switch.


      1. A01CH1P

        Measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard resistance
        Condition Specified Condition
        Upper end of float Below 1 Ω
        Lower end of float 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the level warning switch.

    2. Check the resistance of the fuel filter assembly (with heater).

        Seal the fuel inlet and apply a vacuum of 26 to 36 kPa (197 mmHg , 7.77 in.Hg to 272 mmHg , 10.7 in.Hg) to the fuel outlet with a vacuum pump.

      2. Measure the resistance between body ground and terminal 2 of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        Terminal 2 - Body ground 20°C (68°F) Approx. 4 Ω

        Note

        Values may vary depending on temperature and measurement method.

        Tech Tips

        Perform the measurement with the fuel filter assembly installed in the vehicle.
