CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE INTAKE VALVE

      Using SST, remove the valve spring retainer locks, and then remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring and intake valve.

      Tech Tips

      Keep the removed parts in the correct order so that they can be returned to their original positions when reassembled.

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST VALVE


    1. A01CH64E01

      Using SST, remove the valve spring retainer locks, and then remove the valve spring retainer, inner compression spring and exhaust valve.

      Tech Tips

      Keep the removed parts in the correct order so that they can be returned to their original positions when reassembled.

  3. REMOVE VALVE STEM OIL SHIELD


    1. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the valve stem oil shield.

  4. REMOVE STUD BOLT

    Tech Tips

    If a stud bolt is deformed or its threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. Using E8 and E10 "TORX" socket wrenches, remove the stud bolts.
