CYLINDER HEAD REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL VALVE STEM OIL SHIELD


    1. A01CJ5HE01

      Apply a light coat of engine oil to the valve guide bush.

    2. Using SST, install a new valve stem oil shield.

      Tech Tips

      After pressing in the oil shield, check that the height of the valve stem oil shield is as illustrated.

  2. INSTALL INTAKE VALVE


    1. Apply engine oil to the valve tip.

    2. Install the valve, inner compression spring and valve spring retainer.

      Note

      Install the parts to their original locations.

      Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and place the 2 valve spring retainer locks around the valve stem.

    4. A01CIB1

      Using a 5 mm pin punch, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure a proper fit.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the valve stem tip.

  3. INSTALL EXHAUST VALVE


    1. Apply engine oil to the valve tip.

    2. Install the valve, inner compression spring and valve spring retainer.

      Note

      Install the parts to their original locations.

      Using SST, compress the inner compression spring and place the 2 valve spring retainer locks around the valve stem.

      Using a 5 mm pin punch, lightly tap the valve stem tip to ensure a proper fit.
