ECD SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P2226, P2227, P2228, P2229

DTC Code DTC Name
P2226 Barometric Pressure Circuit
P2227 Barometric Pressure Circuit Range / Performance
P2228 Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input
P2229 Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

DESCRIPTION

The atmospheric pressure sensor, built into the ECM, detects the atmospheric pressure. According to the value of the atmospheric pressure, the ECM corrects the injection timing, the injection volume and the amount of common rail assembly internal fuel pressure for an optimum combustion.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P2226 Open or short in atmospheric pressure sensor circuit for more than 0.5 seconds (ECM internal malfunction) ECM
P2227 Atmospheric pressure sensor malfunction (The MIL is illuminated as well as a DTC being set immediately after a malfunction is detected) ECM
P2228 Short in atmospheric pressure sensor circuit for more than 0.5 seconds (ECM internal malfunction) ECM
P2229 Open in atmospheric pressure sensor circuit for more than 0.5 seconds (ECM internal malfunction) ECM

Tech Tips

DTC P2227 is stored when the ignition switch is turned to ON.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration Click here and initialization Click here.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT

    1. Replace the normal DLC3 cable (12 V specification) for the intelligent tester with the 24 V DLC3 cable.

      Note

Be sure to use the 24 V DLC3 cable when connecting the intelligent tester to the DLC3. Using the normal DLC3 cable (12 V specification) will cause damage to the tester.

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    4. Turn the tester on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

    6. Read the DTCs.
