POWER TAKE-OFF ASSEMBLY (for Power Take Off Electric Type) INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL POWER TAKE-OFF ASSEMBLY


    1. Before applying FIPG, completely remove any old sealant on the seal.

    2. Clean and degrease the transmission mating surface using brake cleaner or a non-residue solvent to make sure there is no oil, water or other foreign matter adhering.

      Apply a continuous bead of FIPG (diameter of 2.0 mm (0.079 in.)) to the transmission side at the location shown in the illustration.

      FIPG
      Three Bond 1215 or equivalent

      Note


      • Install the power take-off assembly within 10 minutes after applying FIPG.

      • Be careful not to allow foreign matter, oil, etc., to adhere to the application surface.

      • After installing the power take-off assembly, do not add manual transmission oil for at least 2 hours.

      Tech Tips

      If the FIPG is kept at a temperature between 17 and 40°C, the procedure can be performed more easily.

    4. A01CH06

      Install the power take-off assembly with the 6 nuts and 6 washers.

      Torque:
      36 N*m  { 370 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf }
    5. Connect the 2 connectors.

  2. INSTALL PTO DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. Align the matchmarks on the power take-off assembly and PTO drive shaft assembly.

      Install the PTO drive shaft assembly with the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and 4 washers.

      Torque:
      12.6 N*m  { 128 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
  3. ADD MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL


    1. Add manual transmission oil.

    2. Install the transmission filler plug and a new O-ring.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  4. INSPECT AND ADJUST MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL


    1. A01CH1VE01

      Park the vehicle in a level place.

    2. Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.

    3. Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.20 in.) below the lowest point of the transmission filler plug opening.

      Oil grade
      API CD, CE, CF, CH-4 or CL-4
      Viscosity
      SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40

      Note


      • Problems may occur when the oil level is too high or too low.

      • After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.

    4. Check for oil leaks if the oil level is low.

    5. Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  5. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  6. LOWER REAR DECK
