OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR GASKET LH


    1. Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, install the 2 outer rear view mirror gasket LH with the 4 screws.

      Torque:
      6.5 N*m  { 66 kgf*cm, 58 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR LH


    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the outer mirror LH.

  3. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    Tech Tips

    Adjust the outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH so that the marks are at the positions shown in the illustration.


    1. Install the outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH and 3 outer mirror brackets to the outer rear view mirror stay sub-assembly LH with the 6 screws.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

    2. w/ Mirror Heater:

      Connect the connector.

  4. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR COVER LH


    1. Attach the 6 claws to install the outer mirror cover LH.

  5. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR LH


    1. w/ Mirror Heater:

      Connect the 2 connectors.

      *1 Protective Tape
      *2 Claw
      *3 Spring
      *4 Outer Mirror LH

      Using a screwdriver, attach the spring to the 2 claws and install the outer rear view mirror LH.

      Note

      Do not pull the outer rear view mirror LH with excessive force. Doing so may cause the actuator to come off or break the mirror surface.

      Tech Tips

      Apply protective tape to the mirror body and screwdriver tip.

  6. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Set the upper part of the outer rear view mirror stay sub-assembly LH against the 2 outer rear view mirror gasket LH.

    2. Using "TORX" socket wrench T30, install the 3 screws.

      Torque:
      6.5 N*m  { 66 kgf*cm, 58 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the outer rear view mirror stay sub-assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    4. w/ Mirror Heater:

      Connect the connector.

  7. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR COVER LH


    1. Attach the 4 claws and install the outer mirror cover LH to the outer rear view mirror stay sub-assembly LH.
