FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH and RH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT DOOR ARMREST BASE PANEL

      Using a moulding remover, detach the clip and 2 claws.

    2. Detach the guide.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL LH


    1. A01CHAC

      Remove the screw.

    2. Detach the 4 claws and remove the front door inside handle bezel LH.

  5. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER LH

      Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the door assist grip cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  6. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01CGQD

      Remove the 4 bolts and door assist grip assembly LH.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the clip.

    2. A01CIZB

      Detach the 8 clips and remove the front door trim board sub-assembly LH.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01CI1J

      Detach the clamp.

    2. A01CH81

      Detach the claw and slide the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH to detach the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

    3. A01CH95

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control link LH and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly LH.

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

      Remove the front door service hole cover LH.

      Tech Tips

      Remove any remaining butyl tape from the front door panel.

    2. Pass the link and wire harness through the front door service hole cover LH.

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. w/ Power Window:


      1. Temporarily install the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

      2. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

      3. Move the front door glass sub-assembly LH so that the front door glass bolts can be seen.

      4. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      5. Remove the power window regulator master switch assembly with front door armrest base panel.

    2. w/o Power Window:


      1. Temporarily install the front door window regulator handle assembly.

      2. Move the front door glass sub-assembly LH so that the front door glass bolts can be seen.

    3. A01CHOZ

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, do not allow the front door glass sub-assembly LH to fall.

    4. A01CINOE01

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly LH as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the front door glass sub-assembly LH.

  11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN LH


    1. A01CI81

      Remove the front door glass run LH.

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01CGQ9

      Remove the 2 bolts and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK CONTROL KNOB


    1. A01CHKL

      Turn the front door lock control knob in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and remove it from the front door lock assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL LINK LH

      Detach the front door lock remote control link LH from front door lock link clamps.

      Detach the front door lock locking snap and remove the front door lock remote control link LH.

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH

      Detach the door outside handle snap and remove front door lock rod sub-assembly LH.

      Detach the door lock control link snap and remove the front door outside locking link LH.

      Disconnect the connector.

      Apply protective tape to the inner surface of the front door panel sub-assembly LH to prevent scratches.

    5. Remove the bolt.

    6. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock assembly LH.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the 2 screws.

      Detach the guide and remove the front door lock actuator assembly LH.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL LINK RH (for Front Passenger Side)

      Detach the front door lock remote control link RH from front door lock link clamps.

      Detach the front door lock locking snap and remove the front door lock remote control link RH.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side)

    1. Detach the door outside handle snap and remove front door lock rod sub-assembly RH.

      Detach the door lock control link snap and remove the front door outside locking link RH.

      Disconnect the connector.

      Apply protective tape to the inner surface of the front door panel sub-assembly RH to prevent scratches.

    5. Remove the bolt.

    6. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 3 screws and front door lock assembly RH.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH (for Front Passenger Side)

      Detach the guide and remove the front door lock actuator assembly RH.
