  • Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.

  • *: Use the intelligent tester.

  • If the ignition switch cannot be turned to ON, communication with the intelligent tester can be performed by connecting the intelligent tester to the vehicle and turning a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the intelligent tester and vehicle begins.

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE


    1. Measure the battery voltage.

      Standard voltage
      20 to 28 V

      If the voltage is below 20 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

      Tech Tips

      A simple method to determine whether the battery is depleted is to operate the horn.

    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output Click here.

    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to duplicate the DTCs (ECD system and engine immobiliser system) by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTCs.
