B1662 Indicator Light Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The SRS warning light is located on the combination meter assembly.

When the SRS warning light is normal, the SRS warning light comes on for approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned from off to ON, and then goes off automatically.

If there is a malfunction in the SRS, the SRS warning light comes on or blinks* to inform the driver of the problem.

DTC B1662 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the SRS warning light circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  • When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal while performing repairs, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait at least 90 seconds.

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag ECU assembly and combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The connectors are properly connected.

    NG

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS

      Disconnect the connectors from the airbag ECU assembly and combination meter assembly.

    2. Check that the connectors (on the airbag ECU assembly side and combination meter assembly side) are not damaged.

      OK
      The connectors are not deformed or damaged.

  3. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)

      Connect the connector to the combination meter assembly.

    2. Using a service wire, connect terminals 21 (LA) and 19 (E1) of connector B.

      Note

      Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting a service wire.

    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait at least 2 seconds.

    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    5. Check the SRS warning light condition.

      OK
      The SRS warning light is not illuminated.

    6. Turn the ignition switch off.

    7. Disconnect the service wire from connector B.

    8. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    9. Check the SRS warning light condition.

      OK
      The SRS warning light is illuminated.

    NG
