STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CJ01

      Install the ignition or starter switch assembly with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      1.5 N*m  { 15 kgf*cm, 13 in.*lbf }
    2. A01CHBP

      Attach the 2 claws to install the unlock warning switch onto the steering column upper with switch bracket assembly.

  2. INSTALL IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER


    1. A01CJDP

      Make sure that the ignition switch lock cylinder is in the ACC position.

    2. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder.

    3. Make sure that the ignition switch lock cylinder is securely installed.

  3. INSPECT STEERING LOCK OPERATION


    1. Check that the steering lock mechanism is activated when the key is removed.

    2. Check that the steering lock mechanism is deactivated when the key is inserted and turned to the ACC position.

  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN UPPER WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY


    1. Install 2 new steering lock set bolts.

    2. A01CHQE

      Tighten the steering lock set bolts until the bolt head breaks off.

  5. INSTALL TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER


    1. A01CHV6

      Attach the 2 claws to install the transponder key amplifier.

    2. Connect the connector.

  6. INSTALL LOWER MAIN SHAFT DUST COVER


    1. A01CI74

      Attach butyl tape to lower main shaft dust cover as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Keep the installation surface free from foreign matter.

    2. A01CIYB

      Install the lower main shaft dust cover to the lower steering column tube.

  7. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN TUBE COVER


    1. A01CJ76

      Install the steering column tube cover to the upper steering column tube.

      Note

      Install the steering column tube cover with the arrow pointing towards the front of the vehicle.

  8. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN TUBE


    1. A01CH2A

      Install the lower steering column tube to the steering column tube cover.
