EXHAUST BRAKE RETARDER REASSEMBLY


  1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL EXHAUST VALVE STOPPER BOLT


    1. Temporarily install the 2 exhaust valve stopper bolts with 2 nuts.

  2. INSTALL EXHAUST VALVE LEVER


    1. Install the exhaust valve lever.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 140 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSPECT AND ADJUST EXHAUST BRAKE VALVE ASSEMBLY

  4. INSTALL VACUUM CYLINDER BEARING

  5. INSTALL EXHAUST RETARDER PROTECTOR

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST BRAKE CHAMBER INSULATOR

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST BRAKE CHAMBER INSULATOR

  8. INSTALL EXHAUST BRAKE ROD CLEVIS


    1. Temporarily install the lock nut and exhaust brake rod clevis to the exhaust retarder vacuum cylinder assembly.

  9. INSTALL ACTUATOR ROD GUIDE COLLAR


    1. Install the 2 actuator rod guide collars to the exhaust retarder vacuum cylinder assembly.

  10. INSTALL EXHAUST RETARDER VACUUM CYLINDER ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily install the exhaust retarder vacuum cylinder assembly to the exhaust brake valve bracket.

  11. INSTALL VACUUM CYLINDER CLEVIS PIN


    1. Connect the exhaust brake rod clevis to the exhaust valve lever and install the vacuum cylinder clevis pin.

    2. Install the washer and vacuum cylinder clevis snap pin to the exhaust brake rod clevis pin.

    3. Tighten the exhaust brake clevis lock nut.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    4. Instal the exhaust retarder vacuum cylinder assembly to the exhaust brake valve bracket with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 140 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  12. INSTALL EXHAUST BRAKE BRACKET COVER


    1. Install the exhaust brake bracket cover with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.9 N*m  { 60 kgf*cm, 52 in.*lbf }
