EXHAUST BRAKE RETARDER SOLENOID INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT EXHAUST BRAKE SOLENOID WITH BRACKET ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Exhaust Brake Solenoid)

      Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 52.0 to 62.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the exhaust brake solenoid with bracket assembly.

    2. Check the operation.


      1. Apply battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2 and check that air flows from port A to port B.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        24 V battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        24 V battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        		 Air flows from port A to port B

        Note

        Use 24 V battery voltage.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the exhaust brake solenoid with bracket assembly.
