REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT REAR SET NUT
Using a chisel and a hammer, release the staked part of the transmission output shaft rear set nut.
Pull the parking brake lever fully, and shift into the reverse position.
Using a 36 mm socket wrench, remove the transmission output shaft rear set nut.
Using a screwdriver, remove the O-ring.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the bolt and dust cover from the parking brake drum.
Fully apply then release the parking brake.
Tech Tips
If the brake drum cannot be removed easily, remove the rubber plug, and turn the shoe adjuster in the direction of the illustrated arrow mark until the drum turns freely.
Remove the parking brake drum sub-assembly and companion flange.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING
Using SST, remove the 2 parking brake shoe return tension springs.
Remove the plate washer.
Using SST, remove the parking brake shoe return tension spring.
Using SST, remove the 2 return springs.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE
Using SST, remove the shoe hold down springs, shoe hold down cups and shoe hold down pins.
Remove the parking brake shoe lever strut.
Remove the parking brake shoe.
Remove the parking brake shoe adjuster sub-assembly.
Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the parking brake cable from the shoe lever.
REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a screwdriver, remove the C washer and parking brake shoe lever sub-assembly.
