INSTALL VACUUM PUMP BEARING
Using a press, press in a new vacuum pump bearing to the vacuum pump shaft.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP SHAFT
Using SST and a press, press in the vacuum pump shaft to the vacuum pump housing.
Using snap ring pliers, install a new snap ring.
Note
Make sure that the snap ring is firmly installed to the groove.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP GEAR
Install the woodruff key and vacuum pump gear to the vacuum pump assembly with the gear lock nut.
Mount the vacuum pump gear in a vise.
Note
Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the vacuum pump gear.
Tighten the gear lock nut.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ROTOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
Apply engine oil to the vacuum pump rotor sub-assembly and install the vacuum pump rotor sub-assembly in the housing as shown in the illustration.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP BLADE
Apply engine oil to 5 new vacuum pump blades, and install the 5 new vacuum pump blades to the vacuum pump assembly with the round end facing outward.
Note
Make sure that the blades are flush with the rotor surface.
INSTALL VACUUM PUMP END COVER
Mount the vacuum pump housing.
Note
Place aluminum plates on the vise to prevent damage to the vacuum pump assembly.
Install a new O-ring.
Install the vacuum pump end cover and temporarily install the 3 bolts.
Note
Check the blade contact with the case wall when installing the end cover. If the protrusions of the end cover push the blade, blade will be broken.
Using a 5 mm pin punch and a hammer, tap in the 2 straight pins.
Tighten the 3 bolts.
INSTALL CHECK VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY
Install a new O-ring and check valve sub-assembly.
