VACUUM PUMP ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. CHECK VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump.

    2. A01CI38E01

      Connect the hose of a vacuum gauge to the pump and insert a plug into the other hose of the gauge.

    3. Start the engine and warm it up for more than 2 minutes.

    4. With the engine idling, check the negative pressure of the pump.

      Standard negative pressure
      More than 86.7 kPa (650 mmHg, 26 in.Hg)

      Tech Tips

      If the negative pressure is less than the standard value, replace the vacuum pump blade.

    5. Remove the gauge from the pump.

    6. Connect the hose to the pump with the clip.
