BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. REMOVE ECU BRACKET


    1. Disconnect the connectors.

      Remove the 3 bolts and the ECU bracket.

  5. REMOVE ECU BRACKET


    1. Disconnect the connectors.

    2. A01CGZT

      Remove the 3 bolts and the ECU bracket.

  6. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 4 air duct sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and the No. 1 instrument panel brace sub-assembly.

  8. DISCONNECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and separate the brake master cylinder reservoir assembly.

  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT


    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disconnect the connectors and detach the 4 clamps, then separate the wire harness.

      Remove the 2 grommets.

    4. Remove the 10 bolts and 2 nuts, then instrument panel reinforcement.

  10. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  11. DISCONNECT MASTER CYLINDER TO TUBE CONNECTOR TUBE

      Using a 12 mm union nut wrench, disconnect the master cylinder to tube connector tube from the brake tube way.

  12. REMOVE PEDAL BRACKET ASSEMBLY

      Using a 12 mm union nut wrench, disconnect the 2 brake tubes from the brake tube way.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the brake tube way.

      Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster vacuum tube.

    4. A01CHTB

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the wire to wire connector from the pedal bracket assembly.

    5. A01CHZ7

      Disconnect the connectors and clamps from the pedal bracket assembly.

    6. A01CIMJ

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and pedal bracket assembly.

  13. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH


    1. A01CHOS

      Disconnect the connector from the stop light switch.

    2. A01CIOJ

      Turn the stop light switch assembly counterclockwise and remove the stop light switch assembly.

  14. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the stop light switch mounting adjuster.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  15. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN

      Remove the clip and the push rod pin.

  16. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01CHFW

      Remove the bolt, nut and brake pedal support.

  17. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING


    1. Remove the brake pedal return spring from the brake pedal sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL BUSH


    1. Remove the 2 brake pedal bushes and brake pedal shaft collar from the brake pedal sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH CUSHION


    1. Remove the stop light switch cushion from the brake pedal sub-assembly.

  20. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL PAD


    1. Remove the brake pedal pad from the brake pedal sub-assembly.
