INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ES START BUZZER)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      Note

      Be sure to use the 24 V DLC3 cable when connecting the intelligent tester to the DLC3. Using the normal DLC3 cable (12 V specification) will cause damage to the tester.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Select the Active Test on the intelligent tester Click here.

    4. Check that the buzzer sounds/stops when turning the ES start buzzer on/off by using the intelligent tester.

  2. CHECK ES START BUZZER (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the ES start buzzer connector.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S23-1 (EBZ+) - Body ground Always 20 to 32 V

  3. INSPECT ES START BUZZER


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. A01CIRO

      Connect a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal 2, and a positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the ES start buzzer, and then check that the buzzer sounds.

      OK
      The ES start buzzer sounds.

    OK
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ES START BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and ES start buzzer connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S13-5 (BZ) - S23-2 (EBZ-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S13-5 (BZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
