Note


  • After replacing the electric vehicle control ECU assembly, perform clutch pedal stroke sensor assembly release position calibration Click here.

  • DTCs stored in the electric vehicle control ECU assembly are not cleared even after the system returns to a normal condition, so clear the DTCs after performing troubleshooting Click here.

Tech Tips

DTC P1649/31 is also output if the vehicle is driven without releasing the parking brake. Operate the parking brake lever and check the Data List item "Parking Brake Switch", and if there is no malfunction in the Data List and this DTC becomes a history DTC, then this DTC did not indicate a malfunction Click here.

  1. CHECK PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


    1. Check the installation condition of the parking brake switch assembly Click here.

      Correctly installed.

  2. CHECK ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY (PKB TERMINAL)


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  5. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Remove the P27 parking brake switch assembly.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      P27-1 - Body ground Switch pin free Below 1 Ω
      Switch pin pushed in 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the E43 electric vehicle control ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E43-22 (PKB) - P27-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E43-22 (PKB) or P27-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
