  1. CLUTCH PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (When Using the Intelligent Tester)

    Note

If the clutch pedal stroke sensor has been replaced, perform clutch pedal stroke sensor zero point calibration and release position calibration.

    1. Check if the clutch pedal stroke sensor is installed properly.

      Tech Tips

If the clutch pedal stroke sensor is not installed properly, reinstall it Click here.

    2. Ensure that the ignition switch is off and the engine is stopped.

    3. Make sure that the parking brake is applied.

    4. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    5. Start the engine.

    6. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    7. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / Utility / ES Calibration.

    8. Perform the procedures displayed on the intelligent tester.

  2. CLUTCH PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (When not Using the Intelligent Tester)

    Note

If the clutch pedal stroke sensor has been replaced, perform clutch pedal stroke sensor zero point calibration and release position calibration.

    1. Check if the clutch pedal stroke sensor is installed properly.

If the clutch pedal stroke sensor is not installed properly, reinstall it Click here.

    2. Ensure that the ignition switch is off and the engine is stopped.

    3. Make sure that the parking brake is applied.

      Note

Ensure that the clutch pedal is not depressed.

    5. Turn the ES start main switch off and start the engine.

    6. A01CIK9E01

Push the ES start timing switch toward the FAST side for approximately 1 second.

    7. Check that the buzzer sounds one long beep followed by two short beeps to indicate that calibration is completed.

      Tech Tips

      • If the buzzer sounds one long tone only, inspect the clutch stroke sensor circuit.

      • If the buzzer does not sound, inspect the TC circuit, parking brake circuit, tachometer circuit, ES start timing switch circuit and buzzer circuit.

    8. Remove SST from the terminals of the DLC3.

  3. RELEASE POSITION CALIBRATION

    1. Ensure that the ignition switch is off and the engine is stopped.

    2. Make sure that the parking brake is applied.

      Note

Ensure that the clutch pedal is not depressed.

    4. Turn the ES start main switch on and start the engine.

    5. Depress the clutch pedal and select 2nd gear.

    6. A01CIK9E01

Push and hold the ES start timing switch toward the FAST side for approximately 3 seconds.

    7. Check that the buzzer sounds repeatedly to indicate that initialization is completed, then release the FAST side of the ES start timing switch to stop the buzzer.

    8. Slowly release the clutch pedal in order to engage the transmission.

    9. A01CIK9E01

When the engine speed fluctuates (slightly slows down, then returns to normal within 1 second), push the ES start timing switch toward the FAST side again for approximately 1 second.

    10. Check that the buzzer sounds four short beeps to indicate that calibration is completed.

    11. Remove SST from the terminals of the DLC3.

    12. Check the switch operation to see if the release position is calibrated appropriately.

    13. If the release position is not calibrated properly, perform the calibration again checking the following points:

      1. Check that a DTC is not stored.

      2. Check that the parking brake is fully applied.

      3. Check that there is no short in the FAST related circuit of the ES start timing switch.

      4. Check that there is no abnormality for the connection of terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) or in the TC or CG circuit of the DLC3.

      5. Operate the clutch pedal properly.
