ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:C1225, C1468, C1469, C146A, C146B

DTC Code DTC Name
C1225 SM Solenoid Circuit
C1468 SFR Solenoid Circuit
C1469 SFL Solenoid Circuit
C146A SRR Solenoid Circuit
C146B SRL Solenoid Circuit

DESCRIPTION

These solenoids turn on when signals are received from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) and they control the pressure acting on the wheel cylinders to control the braking force.

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1225

When any of following conditions detected:

  • When the switching solenoid (SM1 or SM2) is OFF, an open circuit condition continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  • An overcurrent condition in the switching solenoid (SM1 or SM2) continues for 0.05 seconds or more.

  • When there is no current fluctuation, the drive conditions of SM1 and SM2 are different for 0.2 seconds or more.

  • Short-circuit condition of SM1 and SM2 continues for 0.1 seconds or more.

  • When current drive is greater than the specified value, the current monitor is less than the specified value for 0.1 seconds or more continuously.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

  1. RECONFIRM DTC

    Tech Tips

These codes are detected when a problem is determined in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

The solenoid circuits are in the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

Therefore, solenoid circuit inspection and solenoid unit inspection cannot be performed. Be sure to check if any DTCs are output before replacing the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).

    1. Clear the DTC Click here.

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Drive the vehicle at the speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 30 seconds or more.

    4. Check if the same DTC is recorded Click here.

      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

      Tech Tips

      • If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), with the ignition switch ON and the stop light switch off, the ECU performs self diagnosis of the motor and solenoid circuits.

      • If the normal system code is output (the trouble code is not output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harness, and fuses of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly). Make sure that no DTCs are output.

      • If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.

      • The DTCs were probably output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.
