ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

Use the table below to help determine the cause of a problem. The likely causes of the problem are indicated in descending order. Check each suspected area in order. Repair or replace faulty parts or perform adjustments as necessary.

Note

When replacing the skid control ECU, sensor, etc., turn the ignition switch off.

Tech Tips


  • Inspect the fuse and relay before investigating the suspected areas as shown in the table below.

  • Inspect each malfunction circuit in order for the corresponding symptom.

Anti-lock Brake System:

ABS and/or EBD does not operate Check the DTC again and make sure that the normal system code is output. (*1)
IG power source circuit

Check the brake actuator assembly with the intelligent tester. (Check brake actuator assembly operation using the Active Test function.) If abnormal, check the hydraulic circuit for leakage.

If the symptoms still occur even after the above circuits in suspected areas have been inspected and proved to be normal, replace the skid control ECU. (*1)
