REAR LEAF SPRING INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

INSTALL NO. 4 SPRING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

Temporarily install the bolt and nut (4), and then tighten the bolts and nuts in numerical order (1 to 4) to install the No. 4 spring bracket sub-assembly to the frame.

Torque:: 140 N*m { 1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf }

INSTALL REAR SPRING ASSEMBLY
1. Place the rear spring assembly on the rear axle housing.
2. Align the hole of the rear axle housing with the head of the spring center bolt.
3. Jack up the rear axle housing.

  *a Rear side
  
  Install the rear No. 2 spring shackle sub-assembly, rear spring assembly and No. 2 spring shackle with the 2 nuts.
  
  Torque:
  
  180 N*m { 1835 kgf*cm, 133 ft.*lbf }

  *a Front side
  
  Install the rear spring assembly with the bolt and nut.
  
  Torque:
  
  180 N*m { 1835 kgf*cm, 133 ft.*lbf }
  
  Note
  
  Turn the bolt while holding the nut.
INSTALL REAR SPRING U BOLT
1. Install the spring U bolt seat sub-assembly, rear upper spring seat and 2 rear spring U bolts with the 4 nuts.
  
  Torque:
  
  265 N*m { 2702 kgf*cm, 195 ft.*lbf }
TEMPORARILY INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
1. Temporarily install the rear shock absorber assembly to the rear axle housing with the bolt and washer.
INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque:

515 N*m { 5252 kgf*cm, 380 ft.*lbf }
STABILIZE SUSPENSION
1. Lower the vehicle.
2. Bounce the vehicle up and down several times to stabilize the suspension.
TIGHTEN REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
1. Tighten the bolt.
  
  Torque:
  
  68 N*m { 693 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf }
CONNECT REAR STABILIZER BAR (w/ Rear Stabilizer)
